The Senior Account Executive is responsible for driving sales growth and customer acquisition within an assigned territory. This role involves building relationships with executive-level buyers and influencers in private or publicly traded companies, and collaborating with other Workiva Solution Sales teams to deliver multi-solution sales.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively seeking out sales opportunities and generating qualified sales pipeline
  • Utilizing information gathered during the needs analysis phase to deliver a compelling demonstration of the Workiva platform
  • Addressing customer objections and finding solutions to various client challenges
  • Leading the sales process to a close by effectively showcasing Workiva's value proposition
  • Regularly updating customer relationship management tools to report customer contacts
  • Providing consistent and accurate forward-looking information through pipeline analysis to forecast sales
  • Developing and executing a sales strategy with purposeful action to secure the sale
  • Rallying internal support to pursue an account and optimizing internal resources
  • Prioritizing selling activities and ensuring timely follow-through
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of Workiva products through ongoing training and a growth mindset
  • Sharing knowledge, successes, lessons learned, and best practices with peers across teams

Requirements include:

  • 6+ years of experience in a related role, such as enterprise technology or complex solution sales
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of knowledge and related career experience

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model
  • Ability to demonstrate complex software applications
  • Demonstrated experience navigating and delivering sales success across large, enterprise organizations
  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand complex business challenges
  • Executive presence and ability to communicate at the most senior level
  • Ability to identify and understand the power of influencers versus buyers and how to navigate the nuances of each during the sales cycle
  • Ability to manage multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously
  • Ability to negotiate pricing with a focus on retaining value
  • Capability for achieving (and exceeding) sales quota targets
  • Fluency in English required; additional fluency in Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, or Swedish a plus
