The Swedish Club, a world-leading marine insurance company, is seeking an experienced Interim Marketing and Communications Manager to lead and manage the marketing and communications team. As the current Marketing and Communications Manager will be on parental leave, this is a 14-month full-time interim assignment.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and develop a team consisting of a Communications Executive, Web Manager, and additional support staff. Oversee daily operations and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Marketing & Communications Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies in close collaboration with senior management and the management team.
- Operational Execution: Work hands-on with the team to create marketing materials, provide guidance on press releases, and support internal teams with presentations and other communication needs.
- Corporate Communications: Manage all external and internal corporate communications, including media relations, PR activities, and content creation for various channels, including social media and events.
- Budget Management: Take full responsibility for the marketing and communications budget, ensuring efficient resource use and cost follow-up.
- Stakeholder Support: Provide expert advice and support to senior management on all marketing and communication-related matters.
- Relevant academic background in Marketing or Communications.
- Preferably +10 years of experience in a similar role with budget and personnel responsibility.
- Experience working in an international environment, preferably within financial institutions or similar industries.
- Proficiency in digital marketing and social media strategy and execution is desirable.
- Knowledge of SEO principles and website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) is a plus.
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience in creating high-quality presentations.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
The Swedish Club was founded by shipowners in 1872 and is today a leading mutual insurance company owned and controlled by its members. The Club writes Protection & Indemnity (P&I), Freight Demurrage & Defence (FD&D), Hull & Machinery (H&M), Hull Interests, Loss of Hire, War Risks and any additional insurance required by shipowners or charterers. The Club currently has 150 employees. The head office is in Gothenburg, Sweden, and branch offices are in Oslo, London, Athens, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
