The Opportunity
We're seeking a commercially astute Business Development Director to join our EV Fleet team and drive new business forward through cross-functional collaboration with our Corporate Finance, Legal, Technical Sales, and Delivery teams. This role will involve mentoring and developing junior members of the team, building key stakeholder relationships, and executing transactions.
- Develop and manage executed client relationships to generate further income from our EV, battery, and charging lease finance products and services.
- Leverage strong origination skills to identify and develop new transaction opportunities within the bus operators, fleet companies, C&I high energy consumers, and OEMs of eBuses and chargers.
- Prepare client presentations, transaction proposals, term sheets, and investment committee papers, presenting these to customers and senior internal stakeholders.
- Manage commercial negotiations with customers and execute new contracts/transactions.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Completing commercial analysis ahead of client propositions to ensure they are commercially viable and attractive to Zenobē.
- Producing underlying financing facilities for Battery on a bus, Chassis lease, and Battery charging infrastructure contracts within transport operators, along with further Zenobē Service contracts, including back energy provision for C&I Contractors.
- Developing Zenobē's commercial, financing, and service propositions.
- Implementing transaction processes, including risk control mechanisms.
Requirements
- Competent in managing, developing, and building customer relationships.
- Strong origination skills to identify and develop new transaction opportunities.
- Strong finance background, particularly asset finance/secured lending.
- Excellent credit risk skills and understanding of accounting.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Able to lead client proposals/pitches and internal credit/capital approval processes.
- Manage legal and commercial negotiations and be able to execute transactions.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced working environment with multiple ongoing tasks.
