We're a leading company in the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. With 730 MW of grid-scale battery storage operational and under construction, we're the largest owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Our goal is to make clean power accessible and accelerate the shift to renewable energy sources.
We've been innovating since our founding in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimize operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites, and film sets.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a Business Development Director to drive new business forward in the EV Fleet team, working closely with our Corporate Finance, Legal, Technical Sales, and Delivery teams. This role will involve mentoring junior members of the team, building key stakeholder relationships, and executing transactions.
- Leverage your origination skills to identify and develop new transaction opportunities within the bus operators, fleet companies, C&I high energy consumers, and OEMs of eBuses and chargers.
- Develop and manage executed client relationships to generate further income from our EV, battery, and charging lease finance products and services.
- Prepare client presentations, transaction proposals, term sheets, and investment committee papers, presenting these to customers and senior internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Completing commercial analysis ahead of client propositions to ensure they are commercially viable and attractive to Zenobē.
- Producing underlying financing facilities for Battery on a bus, Chassis lease, and Battery charging infrastructure contracts within transport operators, along with further Zenobē Service contracts, including back energy provision for C&I Contractors.
- Developing Zenobē's commercial, financing, and service propositions.
Requirements
- Strong finance background, particularly asset finance/secured lending.
- Excellent credit risk skills and understanding of accounting.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Able to lead client proposals/pitches and internal credit/capital approval processes.
- Manage legal and commercial negotiations and be able to execute transactions.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced working environment with multiple ongoing tasks.
