We are seeking highly motivated and talented individuals to fill PhD scholarships in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Patras. Our department is renowned for its research excellence and provides a unique opportunity for students to work on cutting-edge projects in various areas of chemical engineering.
Research AreasOur research focuses on the following areas:
- Atmospheric Pollution and Climate Change: Investigate the impact of human activities on the environment and develop sustainable solutions to mitigate climate change.
- Transport Phenomena: Study the behavior of fluids and gases in various engineering applications, including heat transfer, mass transfer, and fluid dynamics.
- Catalysis, Electrochemistry, and Surface Science: Explore the properties and applications of catalysts, electrochemical systems, and surface phenomena in chemical engineering.
- Plasma Technology and Nanotechnology: Develop innovative applications of plasma technology and nanotechnology in chemical engineering, including materials synthesis and processing.
- Materials Science and Technology: Investigate the properties and applications of various materials, including polymers, ceramics, and composites.
- Process Control, Process Design, and Process Optimization: Develop and apply advanced control strategies, design and optimize chemical processes, and improve process efficiency.
- Biocatalysts, Biotechnology, Biomolecular Engineering, and Environment: Investigate the application of biocatalysts, biotechnology, and biomolecular engineering in chemical engineering, including environmental remediation and sustainability.
- Theory and Mathematical Modeling: Develop and apply mathematical models to understand and predict the behavior of complex systems in chemical engineering.
- Simulation of Materials and Complex Fluids: Investigate the behavior of complex fluids and materials using advanced simulation techniques.
