Job Description

Talga Group is a leading company in the mining, manufacturing, and processing industry. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Strategy Director to oversee our commercial strategy across various business units.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the company's commercial strategy to drive revenue growth, improve profitability, and ensure financial sustainability. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of the Group strategy for business growth
  2. Development and ownership of long-term financial planning and analysis in support of approved Group strategy
  3. Financial modelling to assess the viability of projects and opportunities
  4. Analysing business performance, including the profitability, revenue, pricing and cost of goods sold
  5. Driving efficiencies to ensure contracts remain financially viable and delivered on budget
  6. Managing commercial agreements including MoU's, LOI's, and work with Marketing team to analyse and manage commercial elements
  7. Lead role in advising and managing pricing for commercial agreements
  8. Provide pricing analysis to guide offtake discussions and develop pricing tools and templates to consider different products, order sizes, customers etc
  9. Taking a lead role in solving commercial issues that may arise including stakeholder's adherence to and understanding of contractual obligations
  10. Supporting the Sales and Marketing team to build and maintain customer relationships
  11. Develop business case, analysis and Board papers relevant to your role
  12. Provide commercial expertise and act as Talga contact for Independent Technical Experts
  13. Provide commercial expertise and support to Procurement function

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of commercial management experience, ideally within a multi-business or group environment. You should possess a strong financial background, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Demonstrated experience in managing high-value contracts, negotiations, and leading teams is essential.
