Position Overview

WE Tech Solutions is looking for a Field Service Engineer (Mechanical) to support installation, commissioning, and service activities at shipyards and customer sites in China. Acting as WE Tech's on-site representative, you will ensure safe and efficient execution of mechanical installation tasks, supervise key installation phases, and provide thorough documentation and reporting.The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical expertise, experience with marine rotating machinery, and the ability to coordinate with shipyards and customers in a multicultural environment. This role requires independence, responsibility, and a readiness to travel as needed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as WE Tech Solutions' on-site representative and ensure the safe execution of all site activities.
  • Supervise the installation of the shaft generator (SG) intermediate shaft.
  • Verify that all SG installation work performed by the shipyard meets WE Tech's technical requirements.
  • Oversee alignment of the intermediate shaft within the propulsion shaft line.
  • Supervise the connection of the SG rotor and ensure proper mechanical integration.
  • Oversee adjustment of eccentricity and air gap according to specifications.
  • Supervise closing procedures for the shaft generator.
  • Conduct troubleshooting related to mechanical installation and assigned tasks.
  • Prepare technical reports, daily progress reports, and detailed time reporting.
  • Document site verifications, inspections, and testing activities.
  • Perform other mechanical installation inspections as required.
  • Supervise or support cooling system start-up procedures.

Requirements

  • M.Sc., B.Sc., or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar mechanical installation or field service roles.
  • Strong teamworking and communication skills, with proven ability to operate effectively in multicultural environments.
  • Ability to take responsibility, work independently, and make decisions on-site.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for site assignments.
