Position Overview

WE Tech Solutions is seeking a Field Service Engineer (Electrical) to support our commissioning, service, and maintenance activities in China. In this role, you will act as WE Tech's on-site representative, responsible for carrying out field activities, ensuring safety, performing technical tasks, and providing clear documentation and reporting. You will work closely with customers, shipyards, and internal teams to ensure successful delivery, testing, and operation of our advanced variable speed shaft generator solutions.

The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on electrical expertise, experience in commissioning and troubleshooting high-power marine systems, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, multicultural environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Serve as WE Tech's representative at the site and ensure safe execution of all field activities.

  • Conduct pre-commissioning of variable speed shaft generator solutions.

  • Execute cooling unit start-up procedures.

  • Carry out full commissioning of variable speed shaft generator solutions, including IO-checking, frequency drive configuration, and start-up of system

  • Attend sea trials and perform system testing together with the customer and shipyard.

  • Troubleshoot technical issues related to assigned tasks and delivered solutions.

  • Perform hardware modifications of frequency drive cabinets.

  • Perform service and maintenance activities for systems in operation.

  • Prepare technical reports, daily progress reports, and detailed time reporting.

  • Document site verifications, test results, and commissioning activities.

Requirements

  • M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in similar field service, commissioning, or marine technical roles.

  • Good knowledge of frequency drive technology.

  • Experience in power generation systems and/or marine solutions.

  • Hands-on experience in commissioning and programming PLC-based control systems.

  • Experience working with large (MW-class) frequency drives.

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with proven ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.

  • Ability to take responsibility, work independently, and make decisions on-site.

  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

  • Willingness to travel internationally as required.
