Executive Chef Position at Nordic Light Hotel

Chefs play a vital role in ensuring the culinary experience offered by Nordic Light Hotel is memorable for our guests. We are seeking a talented and dynamic Executive Chef to join our team.
Nordic Light Hotel is a unique, designer hotel located in the heart of Stockholm, offering easy access to central station, waterfront, Old Town, shopping, museums, and restaurants.
Our hotel features carefully appointed rooms, a new Nordic restaurant called Lykke, a fully equipped gym facility, and 15 conference rooms. Ambiance plays a significant role in our focus, with Nordic design, flavors, and tranquility present in every room.
Job Overview:
The position is a full-time role requiring varying working hours.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement menu offerings that align with established routines and profitability targets.
- Collaborate with the Sous Chef to review and prepare arrangements.
- Ensure proper handling of all food, including cooked, uncooked, and leftovers.
- Maintain compliance with sanitation rules according to Swedish regulations.
- Support colleagues in other kitchen positions as needed.
- Work closely with restaurant staff and receptionists to provide exceptional guest service.
- Treat guests and colleagues with respect.
- Manage daily work in assigned stations (hot, cold) and maintain production pace.
- E nsure consistency in food production at the desired level.
- Maintain standards regarding performance, appearance, and timekeeping.
- FOLLOW health and safety regulations set by the hotel.
- Conduct daily stock control.
- Effectively manage wastage.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar executive chef position.
- Strong organizational skills and an appreciation for structure.
- Formal culinary training or relevant work experience.
- Ability to thrive in a busy, high-paced environment.
- An outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
- Responsibility and trustworthiness when working independently.
- Fluent communication skills in English.
