Job Description
  • Strategic Leadership:
  1. Create and execute strategies to expand Mastercard's acceptance network, foster meaningful partnerships, and drive innovative solutions across Northern Europe.
  2. Ensure business development activities align with divisional and global priorities to maximize revenue growth and market penetration.
  3. Serve as a strategic advisor to the leadership team on acceptance, partner, and government-related business initiatives.
Business Development:
  1. Identify and pursue opportunities to increase Mastercard's presence in existing and new areas where payments are or should be accepted.
  2. Leverage current Mastercard offerings and define future needs of the Government sector enabled by new products or partnerships.
  3. Support new business models and innovative acceptance solutions through cross-functional collaboration.
  4. Develop financial models and business cases for acceptance, partnership, and Government opportunities.
Government Engagement:
  1. Understand local, regional, and global priorities, engage Division leadership to prioritize clients and solution opportunities, develop a solid projects pipeline, and drive conversion to secure new revenues.
  2. Identify and pursue prioritized business development opportunities leveraging Mastercard assets through collaboration with Governmental entities and external private partners.
  3. Secure global, regional, and local resources to execute on opportunities and drive marquee wins.
  4. Develop strategies to enhance Mastercard's presence in government-led initiatives, fostering acceptance and innovation.
  5. Partner with government bodies to promote policies and frameworks that enable greater adoption of Mastercard solutions.
Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulators, and industry associations.
  2. Lead negotiations and discussions with partners to secure agreements that align with Mastercard's strategic goals and complement Mastercard's local relevance.
  3. Represent Mastercard in external forums to advocate for policies and initiatives that support business growth and innovation.
Operational Excellence:
  1. Oversee pipeline management and ensure efficient execution of business development activities.
  2. Evaluate and enhance the deal process to deliver improved outcomes and streamlined execution.
  3. Track and report on the progress of acceptance, partnership, and government initiatives, using data to inform strategic decisions.
Team Leadership:
  1. Lead and inspire a team of specialists focused on acceptance, partners, and government activities.
  2. Provide mentorship and direction to ensure alignment with Mastercard's vision and priorities.
  3. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
  4. Work in close partnership with other functions and country leads to align with Mastercard's overall agenda and maximize total value for Mastercard and its customers.
