Curval AB - Vice President Sales Data and Services

The role of Vice President Sales Data and Services at Curval AB is focused on driving innovation around satellite data and leading the global sales growth of our new geospatial and telecommunications powered Data and Services business line. This position involves essential travel to attend events, conferences, and build relationships with customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop strategic plans for business development and sales (short and long term)
  • Secure financial targets and KPIs through effective management and operations

In this role, you will plan and enable the productivity of the department's resources with appropriate structure, skills, and capability to meet current and planned business needs. You will proactively engage and communicate across the organization to enable all parts of the team to achieve success.

Leadership and Management:
  • Lead the improvement and delivery of the data sales, licensing, and bid processes through effective leadership and operational excellence
  • Responsible for the team's staffing decisions and development through the employment lifecycle
  • Provide internal support in the areas of strategy, analysis, and best practices to other senior managers and directors

You will contribute to the development of accurate and complete opportunity forecasting to the wider organization for this business unit. Additionally, you will drive lessons learned initiatives to continually improve pursuit strategies and support the wider team as required - with a specialism in geospatial data and services, user needs, and solutions.

Customer Focus:
  • Identify and develop target customers and sales opportunities, including the generation of new data or service propositions either directly or with strategic partners
  • Translate market intelligence, customer feedback, and identified user needs into clear, tailored value propositions and/or technical specifications for current and future Data and Services

You will capture customer requirements, consider current company geospatial data/service capabilities, and identify where development is needed from technical teams. Furthermore, you will work with the marketing team to drive lead generation, contributing to the development of marketing campaigns and materials for the team and the wider organization.

Skills and Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of space data markets, especially in the geospatial domain
  • Evidence of commercial awareness and networking
  • Ability to lead, coach, and develop others
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills

We are looking for a highly skilled professional with experience in the space industry, preferably with a strong background in geospatial data and services. Relevant degree or equivalent work experience is desired, along with a passion for the space industry. Previous experience of preparing proposals and winning proposals in a commercial industry is an advantage.
