Store Manager Role Overview

As a Store Manager at JD Group, you will be responsible for driving sales and maximizing store profitability while providing industry-leading service and training your team to excel and develop in sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that company policies, including branch rules and procedures, are adhered to at all times within the branch.
  • Train and develop internal staff, promoting progression and leading in-store recruitment, new starter inductions, and staff training.
  • Ensure all expenses are kept to a minimum and are incurred only when justified.
  • Have ownership of administrative responsibilities, including retail development, vacant premises, scheduling, and local trading patterns.
  • Ensure targets are achieved and, where possible, exceeded.
  • Support the team in making customers feel encouraged to return due to courteous and competent service.
  • The branch interior and exterior must be clean and tidy at all times.

Customer Service

  • Maintain customer retention by providing first-class service.
  • Deal with inquiries and complaints, resolving issues and requests.
  • Motivate and train the team to ensure customers receive courteous, considerate, and responsible advice.
  • Ensure staff uniforms are worn and personal appearance meets company standards.

Visual Merchandising

  • Apply weekly briefs to the store, maintaining high visual standards.
  • Attract and engage customers using the latest visual techniques.
  • Ensure new products and advertised products are visible and in the correct locations.
  • Update mannequins, displays, and windows according to Visual Merchandising guidelines.

Requirements

  • Retail management experience.
  • Experience in leading and motivating a team.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
