We are creating a new Strategy, Innovation, and Business Development function to accelerate our brand plan ambitions and collaborate across business functions. The purpose of this new function is to simplify and create clarity for teams working towards our common direction.

The new function consists of three units which work as a unified strategic muscle around our core business internally, including mobilization of business development needs and execution of the strategy for future growth.

As part of our journey to transform ourselves and elevate H&M through our Brand Plan, we are seeking a Business Designer to sit in the Innovation Unit.

A Business Designer is a business thinker with a design mindset, focusing on equipping current and emerging business models with tools to design, prototype, and validate new business methods.

This role drives market analysis, identifies growth opportunities, manages risk, and develops innovative business models. Success requires a mix of strategic thinking, analytical skills, and creative problem-solving while ensuring ethical, sustainable business practices.

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Design Process: Lead the development of design processes.
  • Orchestrate Activities: Organize and align multiple stakeholders and teams to achieve business goals.
  • Tailor Operational Approach: Drive operational efficiency and growth.
  • Sustainability & Ethics: Align business solutions with ethical and sustainable practices.
  • Budgeting: Manage financial resources for business initiatives.
  • Partner Management: Foster and manage external partnerships.
  • Team Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams for business outcomes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ensure collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • KPI Management: Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure business alignment.
  • Opportunity Scouting: Identify and evaluate new business opportunities.
  • Innovation Metrics: Define and track success of new initiatives.
  • Champion Change: Drive transformational change within the organization.
  • Customer-Centric Solutions: Ensure business solutions align with customer needs.
  • Risk Management: Develop strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Cross-Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends.

Skillset required for this role includes Human-Centered Design, Systems Design, Design Thinking, Prototyping, and Business Acumen.
