Pre-Sales Manager-Financial Services Lead

The Customer Advisory team at SAS is seeking a seasoned Pre-Sales Manager to lead a team within Northern European Financial Services. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth and establishing best practices that drive SAS technology adoption.
Key Responsibilities:- Hire, develop, and retain a team of pre-sales professionals with the necessary skills to drive business forward.
- Directly manage day-to-day activities of pre-sales staff and sales support activities.
- Determine staff and resource utilization to achieve sales goals.
- Assign areas of responsibility across the team, including sales assignments or product specialty.
- Ensure consistent team-wide delivery of SAS technology and solution messages to customers in sales engagements.
- Assist in identifying key accounts, emerging technologies, and initiative areas to determine strategies that maximize revenue.
- Work with sales management to fully qualify and manage the delivery of pre-sales Proof of Concept/Value engagements.
- Provide a forward-looking and innovative financial services business vision with sales for the regions and customers.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and the application of SAS technology, its connected ecosystem, and market trends and forces affecting SAS.
- Deal with escalations across the region.
- Communicate with peers, senior business stakeholders, and customers.
- Challenge the status quo in a constructive manner to modernize customers.
- Recommend changes in strategy where and when appropriate.
- Travel locally and regionally as needed.
- Work on issues of diverse scope, analyzing situations and data to evaluate various factors, including current business trends.
- Frequently interact with subordinate supervisors, customers, and functional peer group managers, often leading a cooperative effort among team members.
- Receive assignments in the form of objectives and determine how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Provide guidance to subordinates within established company policies.
- Typically requires eight years of experience in technical sales, marketing, or support, with experience selling, supporting, or using applications with SAS or similar technologies.
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or a quantitative field.
- Ability to work with and lead a team.
- Demonstrated understanding of hardware and software sales techniques and principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of at least one industry or market segment.
- Knowledge of corporate/government software and hardware acquisition cycles and buying influences preferred.
