Strategic Finance Leader for Nordic Region

Förvaltnings AB Tegelbacken is embarking on an exciting journey to become the Nordic region's leading hotel. As the Assistant Director of Finance, you will be instrumental in driving this ambitious project forward.

You will collaborate closely with the Director of Finance to lead and develop the finance department's work. This critical role offers you the opportunity to utilize your experience to influence the future direction of the department and contribute to sustainable long-term financial growth.

We seek a highly skilled individual with:

  • A bachelor's degree in economics/finance or an equivalent qualification
  • Experience in accounting and finance, preferably in a leadership or advisory capacity
  • Ideal experience from financial functions within the hotel/restaurant industry and knowledge of Swedish accounting principles (K3)
  • Exceptional communication skills in both Swedish and English
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and one or more financial systems

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the continuous reconciliation of the hotel's balance sheet accounts, ensuring adherence to company policies and local accounting principles
  • Work proactively to enhance and develop internal processes for bookkeeping and reporting, adhering to the latest accounting standards and tax regulations
  • Assist with the accounting of accruals for prepaid expenses
  • Prepare standardized accounting entries at the time of closing
  • Prepare and submit VAT and tax declarations
  • Contribute to and ensure that monthly reports are compiled on time and with accurate information for further reporting to management and owners
  • Coordinate with department managers to ensure that accruals for expenses are recorded in the correct accounting period
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Ensure compliance with the company's Accounting Policies and Procedures as well as local laws and regulations
  • Offer assistance for other functions within the finance department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income audit, to ensure seamless financial management

The finance department currently comprises six individuals, and you will report directly to the Director of Finance.

The position is a permanent, full-time role (100%) and is covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
