About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Traction Module Engineer to join our team at ALSTOM Gruppe. As a key member of our engineering community, you will be responsible for the development and qualification of power modules for our traction systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the compilation of technical descriptions of power modules.
  • Calculate electrical constraints for all electrical components of the power module and write design reports.
  • Write technical requirement specifications for electrical components of the power module.
  • Lead technical discussions with stakeholders within engineering.
  • Participate in and execute power module qualification.
  • Ensure consistency and compatibility between all functions of the power module.
  • Define the power module validation strategy with the power module team.
  • Verify that the constructional and functional configuration of the power module is compliant with requirements.
  • Analyze technical issues and solutions.
Requirements
  • Relevant academic background, such as a Master's Degree in High Voltage Power Electronics or a related field.
  • Experience and understanding of VHDL and electronic design is a merit.
  • Experience working with industrial electronics and the ability to perform minor HW design changes/adaptations when needed.
  • Experience and knowledge to work in a HV lab; test environment development; measuring devices, equipment, LabView.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of electronic device testing, including analogue and digital design solutions.
  • Experience and knowledge of insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBT's) and the control/driving of them is beneficial.
