About the Role

This position reports to the Engineering Manager and is a key player within R&D for the Slab products segment within Metallurgy Products at ABB.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead key collaboration projects within R&D together with customers and partners to develop innovative solutions for the steel and aluminum industries.
  • Drive the development within open and closed loop control to ensure the quality and innovation of the engineering in our products, systems, and service offerings.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices across different projects and disciplines.
  • Support in sales and delivery projects to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement electromagnetic design solutions within the Slab product segment.

Requirements
  • A Master's degree or higher in Engineering Physics or a related field.
  • Experience in Electromagnetic analysis and mathematical modeling.
  • Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
  • Good knowledge of open and closed loop control systems.
  • Good knowledge of the Steel industry with a focus on the casting process.
  • Fluency in both Swedish and English.
  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies.
