Postdoctoral Researcher in Lipid Mediator Mass Spectrometry

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Karolinska Institutet, Institute of Environmental Medicine. The successful candidate will be part of a multidisciplinary project aimed at understanding the role of lipid mediators in lung disease.
About the ProjectThe project involves the use and further development of mass spectrometry-based methods for quantification of lipid mediators, including eicosanoids, novel octadecanoids, and other oxylipins. The researcher will work on developing novel chromatography approaches, including chiral and UPC2 methods, for applications in large-scale clinical studies and experimental models. The goal is to generate a biochemical map of both pro-inflammatory and pro-resolving lipid mediators in the pathobiology of lung disease.
About the PositionWe are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a Ph.D. in quantitative mass spectrometry or bioanalytical chemistry. The successful candidate will have experience in small molecule mass spectrometry by LC-MS/MS, familiarity with quantification and method validation, and prior experience working with lipids. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact socially and scientifically with other members of the laboratory and international collaborators are essential.
RequirementsThe position is open to candidates who have obtained a doctorate or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctorate. The head of the department determines whether the previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish doctorate or higher. The scholarship is tax-free and is set for twelve months at a time, paid out on a six-month basis.
