Job Description

We are on an exciting journey of sustainable plastic materials in IKEA. Our goal is to develop and lead a supplier base for innovative and sustainable plastic raw materials. As a Business Developer for Plastic Raw Materials, you will play a key role in achieving this goal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build long-term professional relationships with suppliers to ensure a stable and reliable supply chain.
  • Work with suppliers to optimize costs and improve product quality.
  • Secure the best material suppliers and material choices for new product developments and product improvements.
  • Lead the contract review and signing process between IKEA and suppliers.
  • Develop and execute common action plans with suppliers to deliver on Category Business plans.
  • Challenging suppliers to improve all aspects of supplier performance according to IKEA's supply strategy.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers through IKEA's way of working.
  • Evaluate and develop existing production capacities, especially for recycled plastic materials.
  • Identify and implement new business opportunities.
  • Ensure suppliers meet social and environmental standards.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with profound experience in leading global purchasing and sourcing operations. Experience in plastic materials and production is an advantage. You should share IKEA's values and culture and have a strong interest in working for a home furnishings company.

You should have lots of energy, drive, and commitment to reach excellent results. You should have an entrepreneurial mindset combined with a simple leadership approach of bringing people together towards innovative ideas. You should be able to transfer big picture ideas into concrete actions. You should be business-minded and good in communication and building and maintaining relations. You should be willing to act on opportunities and have the skills to communicate fluently in English.

You will be working in a truly international environment with many contacts with colleagues and suppliers globally. The position includes traveling. We hope you want to contribute your unique competence to IKEA's future.
