Doctoral Researcher in Artificial Intelligence for Welded Structures

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled PhD student to join our research team at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that aims to revolutionize quality assurance in welded structures using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digitalization.
Key Responsibilities- Develop hybrid models involving convolutional neural networks (CNNs) for weld localization and use physics-informed neural networks (PINN) for weld quality assessment, including service life predictions for welded structures.
- Collaborate with industry partners to reinforce Sweden as a global leader in designing and manufacturing welded products.
- Work under the supervision of Professor Joakim Jaldén and Professor Zuheir Barsoum to ensure the successful completion of the project.
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong background in machine learning, deep neural networks, and programming skills in Python.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
