Engineering Operations Technician Internship Opportunity

At myGwork - LGBTQ+ Business Community, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Operations Technician Intern to join our team. As a key member of our Infrastructure Operations team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the critical physical infrastructure that supports our business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and Operate Mechanical and Electrical Equipment: Ensure that all mechanical and electrical equipment within the data center is functioning at optimal levels, with a focus on maintaining 100% availability.
- Assist in Root Cause Analysis of Equipment Failures: Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve equipment failures, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Support Facility and Rack-Level Events: Assist in troubleshooting and resolving facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact on business operations.
- Ensure Safety Procedures are Adhered to: Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to all safety procedures and protocols, ensuring the well-being of yourself and others.
- Take Daily Operational Readings: Record and analyze daily operational readings of mechanical and electrical equipment, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Work a Rotating 12-Hour Shift Schedule: Be flexible and adaptable, working a rotating 12-hour shift schedule, including nights and weekends, as required.
- Walk Job Sites in Uneven Terrain: Regularly walk job sites in uneven terrain, ensuring safe navigation and minimal risk of injury.
- Work at Heights and from Ladders: Perform tasks at heights and from ladders, ensuring proper safety equipment and protocols are in place.
- Lift and Move Heavy Objects: Regularly lift and move heavy objects, up to 49 pounds unassisted, and participate in group lifts for heavier objects.
- Coordinate Body Movements: Use proper body mechanics to coordinate movements when using tools or equipment, minimizing risk of injury.
- In Pursuit of or Obtained Bachelor's Degree: Be in pursuit of or have obtained a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical or electrical engineering.
- English Language Proficiency: Possess strong English language skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with the team.
- Ability to Work Well in a Team Environment: Demonstrate strong time management skills and the ability to work well in a team environment, collaborating with others to achieve common goals.
- Experience in Project or Program Management: Possess experience in project or program management, with a focus on mechanical systems and controls.
- Understanding of Mechanical Systems: Have a strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, controls, and other related areas.
