We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join our Data Center Operations team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall availability and reliability of our data centers, meeting or exceeding defined service levels.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety equipment, and HVAC equipment within the data center/facility.
- Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of all data center systems, including incidents/events, problems, changes, monitoring, problem escalation/notification/resolution, and all other aspects of data center support.
- Monitor and troubleshoot all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems, voice/data, cooling systems, fire/life safety equipment, and generators.
- Provide assistance to contractors or data center engineers to ensure proper operation and maintenance of all facility equipment.
- Perform site walk-throughs to verify proper operation of facility equipment and monitoring systems.
- 2+ years of electrical, mechanical, and/or controls relevant experience with demonstrated key electrical and mechanical competencies and theory, and ability to apply safe electrical practice according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies.
- Competent in use of basic IT programs such as MS Word/Excel or similar.
- Valid EU driving license with ability to work on a 24x7 shift rotation.
- Degree or trade qualification preferred with heavy industry or data center experience.
- Understanding of basic electrical principles and systems and working knowledge of backup generator systems.
- Working knowledge of generic mechanical-room infrastructure such as chillers, Air Handling Units, and fan controls.
