We support innovations across various sectors, including energy storage, transportation, renewables, and sustainable urban development, leveraging a robust ecosystem of over 1200 partners and 29 shareholders.
Our portfolio of more than 180 companies is projected to generate €72.8 billion in revenue and reduce CO2 emissions by 1.1G tons annually by 2030. Collectively, these companies have secured €8 billion in investments to date.
EIT InnoEnergy is the driving force behind three strategic European initiatives: the European Battery Alliance (EBA), the European Green Hydrogen Acceleration Centre (EGHAC), and the European Solar Photovoltaic Industry Alliance.
Established in 2010 and supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), EIT InnoEnergy has screened over 7,000 startups, launched more than 300 products, and overseen the filing of over 290 patents by its portfolio companies. Today, we have a dedicated team of over 200 professionals across Europe and in Boston, US.
Role Overview
This position represents a unique opportunity for entrepreneurship and leadership within a highly international context. The role involves collaborating with the Executive Board to shape the strategic direction of InnoEnergy and executing the annual Business Plan for Scandinavia, which is unified across the organization rather than fragmented by country.
Daily collaboration with colleagues across Europe is essential for the successful implementation of the strategy and Business Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver on the three core functions of a CEO:C: Chief/Leader
E: Executive/Implementer
O: Officer/Manager
Collaborate with the Executive Board to evolve and implement the strategic vision of EIT InnoEnergy, contributing to a company with a market capitalization exceeding $1 billion. Develop the annual Business Plans in conjunction with the Executive Board to operationalize the strategy. Execute the company’s yearly business plan at the Co-Location Centre (CC) level for Scandinavia and support its implementation across other CCs. Achieve the objectives outlined in the annual business plan. Cultivate and energize the ecosystem within the CC and across multiple CCs. Maximize the value generated from the execution of the business plan. Champion innovation within the constituencies that contribute to our mission. Represent the organization in relevant institutional forums at the local level. Build essential relationships with key stakeholders in the Scandinavian energy sector, including industry, administration, investors, and the innovation community.Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will possess a majority of the following competencies and skills:
Extensive experience as a business leader, with a minimum of 15 years in senior management roles overseeing interdisciplinary functions. Proven track record in innovation and business development. Successful engagement with Scandinavian public authorities; experience with EU entities is advantageous. Strong understanding of the energy sector and its associated challenges. Insight into customer orientation and market-driven innovation. Demonstrated creativity in challenging the status quo. Results-oriented mindset, prioritizing outcomes over processes. Experience in multinational environments. Ability to navigate matrix organizations effectively. Proficiency in English; fluency in another European language is a plus.
