About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical IT Support Specialist to join our team at The Boeing Company. As a Technical IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support for our production systems, including managing technical aspects of applications, participating in implementation projects, and providing proactive problem-solving and daily management of production installations.
Key Responsibilities
- Become an authority on several production system installations, managing technical aspects of applications.
- Participate in ongoing implementation projects, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide advanced technical support for day-of-operation flight and crew tracking and related products, adhering to Service Level Agreements.
- Assist clients with knowledge injections, proactive problem-solving, and daily management of production installations.
- Maintain Linux installations on company servers, recommending patches and upgrades to clients.
- Work with system requirements, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in an on-call roster, providing 24x7 standby support, with additional compensation and time off.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in software development or advanced technical support roles.
- Good knowledge of Python language or similar.
- Good knowledge of Unix and/or Linux.
- Good knowledge of shell scripting.
- Familiarity with AWS.
- Good knowledge of version control systems, such as Git and Mercurial.
- Fluency in English language.
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in software development or advanced technical support roles.
- Particular interest in technical problem-solving.
- Experience with AWS.
- 24x7 work environment on call.
- Strong programming skills, with Java an advantage.
- Databases, such as Oracle or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Messaging systems, such as ActiveMQ.
- Customer relationship experience is advantageous.
- Highly responsible, able to take ownership of issues.
- Strong technical and analytical aptitude.
- Able to work independently and within a team.
