Job Description

Northvolt Labs AB is seeking a highly skilled Senior Production Engineer to join our team in Västerås. As a key member of our production team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and enhancing various aspects of our battery manufacturing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimization: Analyze and evaluate production processes to maximize productivity, reduce downtime, lower costs, and ensure safety.
  • Improvement Activities: Lead improvement activities for production as they are identified, driving continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Quality and Cost Analysis: Analyze process quality, cost, and output performance using tools like Statistical Process Control (SPC) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Product Development: Assist in the design and development of new products, ensuring they meet our high standards.
  • Process Documentation: Support the development and modification of process documentation, including Bill of Process (BOP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans.
  • Equipment Development: Participate in and drive projects for new equipment, ensuring it meets our production needs.
  • Production Analysis: Analyze all facets of production, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Problem-Solving Workshops: Initiate and drive problem-solving workshops using methods like Design of Experiments (DoE), 5W, and 8D.
  • Safety Procedures: Establish safety procedures and protocols that prioritize workers' well-being and minimize environmental impact.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor or master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience: 6+ years of relevant work experience in highly automated production, preferably in industries like batteries, automotive, semiconductors, or electronics.
  • Leadership Experience: Extensive successful track record of leading process improvement projects in a production factory.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of battery manufacturing processes and battery product requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Detailed knowledge of Yield, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), continuous improvement work, and cost reduction.
  • Document Control: Experience in operating standardized documents and error-proof methods for battery manufacturing operations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent English written and verbal skills.
