Postdoctoral Researcher in Chronic Pain Pathways

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral research position in the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology at the Karolinska Institutet.
Project OverviewThe successful candidate will investigate pain mechanisms in fibromyalgia, focusing on autoantibodies and their role in inducing and sustaining pain. The project involves working with patient and healthy control liquid and tissue biopsies, as well as human primary cell cultures. Collaboration with preclinical and clinical researchers, computational biologists, and biostatisticians is essential to gain new insights into fibromyalgia pain pathology.
Responsibilities- Design and execute experiments to investigate pain mechanisms in fibromyalgia
- Analyze data and contribute to the development of new research projects
- Collaborate with researchers from diverse disciplines to advance the understanding of chronic pain
- Present research findings at international conferences and publish in top-tier journals
- PhD in immunology, neuroscience, biomedical science, or a related field
- Strong background in neuroscience, immunology, or neuroinflammation
- Experience working with human material and primary cell cultures, as well as immunocytochemistry, microscopy, and flow cytometry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
