Postdoctoral Researcher in Chronic Pain Mechanisms

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Karolinska Institutet. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying chronic pain states, with a focus on fibromyalgia.
About the ProjectThe project aims to uncover the underlying mechanisms of fibromyalgia pain pathology, with a focus on autoantibodies and their role in inducing and sustaining pain. The researcher will work closely with preclinical and clinical researchers, computational biologists, and biostatisticians to gain new insights into the disease.
Responsibilities- Investigate pain mechanisms in fibromyalgia using patient and healthy control liquid and tissue biopsies, as well as human primary cell cultures.
- Work closely with the research team to design and implement experiments, analyze data, and interpret results.
- Contribute to the development of new research ideas and projects, and collaborate with other researchers to advance the field.
- PhD in immunology, neuroscience, biomedical science, or a related field.
- Strong background in neuroscience, immunology, or neuroinflammation, with documented practical experience working with human material and/or primary cell cultures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good written and spoken English, with the ability to prepare publications and present research findings.
