Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Applications Specialist to join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, providing technical support, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Support: Provide timely and effective technical support to customers, resolving issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Training and Development: Design and deliver training programs to customers, enhancing their knowledge and skills in the use of our laboratory instrumentation.
  • Instrumentation Support: Troubleshoot and repair laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify business opportunities and drive revenue growth.
  • Process Improvement: Analyze and optimize customer workflows, implementing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders, building strong relationships and fostering a culture of collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: A relevant qualification in Life Sciences or a related field, and/or relevant experience gained within a clinical laboratory or similar environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical proficiency and problem-solving skills, with a background in electronics, biotechnology, medical devices, or engineering.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 80%, including some international travel, and flexibility to manage competing priorities.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in an Applications, Service Engineering, or Technical/Customer Support role, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Training and Development: Experience in a training or mentoring role, or equivalent experience in developing training programs.
