- Delivery Pipeline Management: Ensure the delivery pipeline is flowing smoothly, addressing blockers as necessary, and maintaining a sustainable pace.
- Delivery Systems: Oversee the development of accurate, fit-for-purpose, and sustainable delivery systems, including informed estimates, delivery forecasting, capacity planning, and associated reporting.
- Product Health: Ensure the health of all team products is well understood, discoverable, and addressable.
- Xero Engineering Standards: Advocate for and facilitate an engineering approach compliant with Xero's standards, fostering sustainably excellent engineering practices.
- Development Roadmaps: Collaborate with peers in Product and your team to develop effective and efficient roadmaps and plans that deliver business outcomes.
- Technology Staying Current: Maintain a current knowledge of engineering technologies used in Xero's software applications and stay up-to-date with emerging practices, techniques, and frameworks.
- Lean-Agile Experience: Proven experience managing software delivery teams using Lean-Agile techniques.
- Software Delivery Expertise: Excellent grasp of modern software delivery practices and life cycle.
- Career Growth: Proven ability to balance individual needs with business requirements.
- Coaching and Mentoring: Experience in coaching and mentoring team members.
- Digital Product Environment: Previously worked in a digital product or SaaS environment.
- Infrastructure Applications: Extensive experience developing infrastructure applications.
- Tech Stack Familiarity: Familiarity with Java, AWS, PostgresSQL.
This is a senior leadership role within our engineering organization, requiring strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to drive results. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in managing software delivery teams and driving technical excellence.
Salary RangeThe estimated salary for this role is $180,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on location and experience.
