Director, Market Product Management, Authentication
Mastercard Digital Solutions is part of Mastercard Core Products and provides a set of innovative digital payment solutions and authentication solutions. Mastercard enables issuers, acceptance, and digital partners to offer their customers a consistent and secure checkout experience across devices, browsers, and merchants starting from advanced authentication. Mastercard solutions provide a seamless user experience in a few clicks, protected by network tokenization and authentication standards, maximizing online checkout convenience and security.
Overview:
The Market Product Management for Authentication team is responsible for managing the market deployment of cardholder identity verification and authentication products including Mastercard Identity Check, Mastercard Passkeys, and Mastercard Token Authentication Framework (TAF). The Director for Market Product Management for authentication in the Northern Europe division will lead our authentication deployment efforts in partnership with the local Customer Solution teams (CSC) for several markets in the division and lead Go to Market activities on authentication. The incumbent will also support customer conversations across all authentication solutions with a sharp focus to drive scale, usage, and optimization of the services, whilst growing associated product revenues.
Role:
1. Works closely with regional product owners to capture market insights to feed regional authentication product strategy across Identity Check program, passkeys, and Token Authentication Framework in partnership with CSCs aligning with market needs.
2. Drives all customer support activities on Identity Check program, including optimization and growth initiatives; develops scalable customer engagement approach and customer deliverables to support growth and optimization initiatives; captures customer and CSC feedback to consistently enhance customer engagements.
3. Leads deployment of passkeys for Click to Pay and Secure Card on File at the market level, leading go-to-market efforts at the local level in coordination with CSCs and regional product manager; builds and manages local pipeline of passkeys to accelerate pilots and transition to full commercialization stage; supports local customers (issuers, PSPs, merchants, acquirers) on Mastercard Passkeys and TAF; delivers product workshops to customers.
4. Works with Customer Solution Centres to provide market level/customer support on digital and authentication platforms and products.
5. Demonstrates thought leadership through profound product and industry expertise representing Mastercard at relevant industry events.
6. Has a solid reporting line to the Head of Market Product Management for Authentication in Europe and a dotted reporting line to the Northern Europe Customer Solutions Centre (CSC) Head of Digital Solutions.
7. Has some potential people management within the role scope.
All about you:
1. Strong industry expertise (focused on EMV 3DS, FIDO & biometrics authentication, and digital payments overall), upcoming technologies, and authentication fraud trends. Strong knowledge of the payment industry and the competitive landscape.
2. Deep understanding of the regulatory framework at European (PSD2, PSD3, PSR), and its impact on authentication solutions.
3. Minimum 12 years of experience in a similar function/role.
4. Clear understanding of the Digital space (Tokenization, Click to Pay).
5. Extensive customer-facing experience: build trust and relationships with customers, manage customer expectations, clear and effective communications with customers at all levels, clear communication verbally and in writing/customer deliverables.
6. Effective Communication: Excellence in communicating complex ideas clearly and concisely through presentations, reports, and client interactions, ensuring clients fully understand the proposed solutions; outstanding presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
7. Negotiation and conflict resolution: Proven skill in handling difficult conversations and finding mutually beneficial solutions to meet both customer and regional product goals.
8. Ability to form trusted relationships at various levels. (Existing personal network of key decision makers in the industry preferred.)
9. Ability to create own reports and perform data-driven recommendations and analysis out of existing cubes/databases.
10. Strong networker with the ability to listen, build common ground, and influence to effectively advance business opportunities and generate revenue.
11. Travelling required.
12. Language skills: Fluent English, with other European language (Scandinavian, Dutch) preferred.
