Are you passionate about solving technical challenges and helping customers? Smartoptics is looking for a Technical Support Engineer to join our team in Kista. In this role, you'll provide top-tier support for our advanced optical networking solutions, working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure seamless operations.
IntroductionSmartoptics provides advanced optical networking solutions for modern open networks. We help customers solve network challenges and stay competitive. Our customers include telecom and cable operators, cloud providers, Internet exchanges, government agencies, and businesses of all sizes.
If you join this role, you'll be part of a small but growing team dedicated to providing excellent support for Smartoptics products. Your primarily working place will be in our facilities in Kista.

As a Support Engineer, you'll play a key role in providing top-notch support while keeping business needs in mind. You'll handle a wide range of technical issues, from transceivers and traffic interfaces to optical line systems, including transponders and muxponders.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot software and hardware issues, analyze problems, and find solutions quickly.
- Work closely with different teams to provide complete customer support.
- Be available for on-call support 24/7/365 as per a rotating schedule and during emergencies.
- Experience working in technical support, assisting customers via web, phone, and in-person.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and follow up to ensure nothing is overlooked.
- Strong communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- Willingness to be on-call as per a set schedule.
- Ability to create documentation, including procedures, service bulletins, and manuals.
- Good understanding of DWDM design and optical components such as amplifiers, filters, WSS, and VOA.
- Knowledge of transceivers, including optical and management interfaces.
- Familiarity with Linux and how software interacts with hardware in embedded systems.
