Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has an exciting opportunity for an Underwriter based in our Sweden office to join the Executive & Professional Lines team. Day-to-day responsibilities of this role include developing business within the Nordic region across all relevant distribution channels, prequalifying accounts, utilising underwriting acumen to select risks within company's risk appetite and expanding and developing new business opportunities through production and marketing calls with brokers and customers.

We are seeking an individual who is energized, passionate and who is always striving towards excellence.

You should be comfortable working closely with actuaries, the Claims team and underwriters from across the broader team. In addition, necessary character, relationship building and negotiating skills to help lead and further build a profitable book of business are of the upmost importance. The successful candidate will be focused on a positive customer experience, while maintaining sound underwriting discipline. This position is a great fit for an Underwriter looking to expand their responsibilities and underwriting knowledge with an experienced and well-regarded unit within a top global insurance company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage and build upon a book of business that is consistent with the team's strategic focus. Establish, develop, and expand on broker and customer relationships. Underwrite efficiently without sacrificing discipline, diligence, and quality service. Work in a fast-paced environment with agility and decisiveness. Be a positive reflection on the company by demonstrating integrity and leadership in the marketplace. Effectively communicate BHSI's value proposition to brokers and customers. Work closely with our in-house claims team to help create a positive and transparent experience for our customers. Collaborate with teammates across all product lines.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

1-5 years' experience underwriting of D&O, EPLI, Fiduciary and Fidelity is preferred. A collaborative and team-focused mentality Strong communication and negotiation skills Technical skills in financial analysis Understanding of policy forms and coverage Fluent Swedish and English speaker
