An exceptional and thrilling position is currently open in our Marine team for an Underwriter to bolster and enhance the Marine insurance product in the Nordic region. With guidance and mentorship from our seasoned underwriting team, you will have the opportunity to advance as a technical expert for the function and region. We are seeking an individual enthusiastic about conducting business and fostering growth in a vibrant market. The role necessitates some experience in marine underwriting or familiarity with marine law and insurance. However, you should possess a solution-focused mindset with the capacity to coordinate and prioritize considering both individual and team interests.

Your duties will involve underwriting the expanding book of primarily marine cargo insurance in all four Nordic countries. You will gain insights into establishing global insurance schemes, overseeing and assessing exposures, staying informed about claims and profitability for the entire portfolio as well as individual clients. A key responsibility will be to establish and nurture relationships with brokers and clients.

What are your essential responsibilities?

Strategy and Execution

• Analysis and assessment of risks.
• Negotiation with producers to attain profit targets.
• Enhancement of expertise in products, services, and targeted markets.
• Underwrite, administer, and cater to the current portfolio and generate new business.
• Assist senior underwriters in handling complex accounts.
• Maintain awareness of all reported claims while offering support and insights on claims settlement.
• Recognize and propel new product development prospects.

OneAXA

• Co-Responsible for local governance and supervision of local synergies and boundaries.
• Training/aid for local personnel on optimizing OneAXA entities.
• Coordinate and boost revenue synergies and One AXA client Experience within the country.
• Escalation & problem-solving.

You will be situated in the AXA XL Stockholm office and join our Marine Underwriting Team Nordics comprising three Marine Underwriters. The role involves some travel, both locally and internationally.

SHARE your talent

We are in search of an individual with the following abilities and proficiencies:

• Several years of pertinent Marine cargo underwriting experience.
• University degree in law, finance/business or engineering, preferably with a specialization in insurance, logistics, transportation, or related areas, or equivalent qualification from experience.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Swedish.
• Good IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Excel.
• Adaptability and innovation in response to changing environments.
• Capability to collaborate in a team setting.
