About the position

We are seeking expression of interest from creatively driven and technically grounded Directors that can contribute to our company's offer in earlier project stages and pitch efforts, but also visually drive projects from start to completion. We need someone who can drive the high level vision of a project, push the story/narrative and lead a team to achieve our goals as a company, but also our clients' vision. With this, also help to manage interactive, pre-rendered, in-engine, and high-level conceptual work with the project leadership core team.As Goodbye Kansas pitches on a variety of project types, we are looking for someone whos skillset covers foreseeing technical needs, creative, pitch, all the way to collaborating with production. 

This takes a candidate that can get their hands dirty one day technically, but also be client facing, while also leading a larger project team and pipeline.

In this position, you will report to the Head of Creative and work closely with the Executive Producers, Art Directors, Script Writers, Producers and Artists to create emotionally connecting productions and projects. You are expected to be able to manage all creative aspects of our productions and projects. Its important that you work extremely well with people, deadlines, and can fully understand and lead every tier of a production / project, but also pitch and vocalise your vision and ideas extremely well to others.

What you will get to do

Help the Art department in supporting the Creative Director towards company goals Working closely with Executive Producers to drive pitch efforts and client meetings Advise on and technically develop our Real-time initiatives Drafting briefs and setting up a project team Building upon and driving stories into projects Leading artists, writers, VFX, creative and treatments throughout the projects Creative editing - Boardomatics, previs etc, game capture Technical editing - Face/motion, organizing and shortlisting ADR, dialogue/VO etc. Creatively leading internal projects and initiatives Growing a healthy, collaborative, passionate, fun, professional and creative culture.

What you bring

10+ year of previous experience from the Capture/VFX/CG industry or other relevant experience An eye for visual style and the understanding of how to bring that style to life Experience working with Directors, Production, Producers, VFX Supervisors and Concept Artists Experience with pre-rendered cinematics in Unreal Engine Intensive knowledge of Unreal or game engines Capability to support projects from conception to completion, and ability to conceptualise ideas and to think visually Methodical approach to work within a high paced environment, delivering on time A well-developed understanding of the post-production process including current non-linear video editing, animation and sound design techniques Ability to constructively receive, distill and execute on client feedback Proactive and able to prioritize for the good of the overall company Excellent communication and people-management skills Excellent verbal and written communication in English A deep understanding with post-production pipelines, techniques, and software A strong balance of both creative and practical / technical skills
