Head of IT

The Role

As Head of IT at Nordic Knots, you will be responsible for defining, building, and leading the company's IT function. Reporting to the COO, you will own the long-term vision for technology across the business while ensuring day-to-day reliability, security, and scalability.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You'll oversee budgets, systems architecture, and security frameworks while also driving the adoption of tools, processes, and infrastructure that improve efficiency across the organization. With your deep technical and managerial background, you will ensure IT operations are cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with business growth.

Key Responsibilities

IT strategy & governance – Define and execute the long-term IT strategy in alignment with company objectives, ensuring scalability and resilience.

Budget & P&L responsibility – Oversee IT budgets, optimize costs, and ensure cost-effective operations.

IT security – Maintain and improve security protocols to protect company and customer data.

Compliance & data governance – Ensure all systems meet legal, regulatory, and company standards.

Infrastructure & systems architecture – Design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient IT infrastructure.

Devices & hardware lifecycle – Manage the lifecycle of company hardware and software, ensuring reliability and efficiency for all employees.

Resource planning – Allocate IT resources effectively to support business growth and operational priorities.

Business process solutions – Lead the discovery, evaluation, and rollout of non/low-code SaaS tools, automations, and integrations that improve internal processes, always with governance, security, and ROI in mind.

Cross-functional support – Partner with eCommerce, Trade, Finance, and Creative teams to provide best-in-class IT solutions that enable business performance.

Stakeholder communication – Act as the primary IT contact for leadership, ensuring transparency, alignment, and strategic support.

What we're looking for

You have 8+ years of IT leadership experience, ideally in a fast-growing international company.

Strong track record in IT strategy, systems architecture, and infrastructure management.

Deep understanding of IT security, compliance, and data governance.

Experience managing P&L, budgets, and vendor negotiations.

Skilled in resource planning and team leadership, with the ability to scale IT functions as the company grows.

Hands-on experience with SaaS systems, no-/low-code solutions, and process automation.

Strong problem-solving skills and a pragmatic approach to balancing long-term strategy with day-to-day needs.

Excellent communication skills in English; Swedish is a plus.
