CTO / Co Founder

Location: Stockholm, Sweden (Hybrid, regular time in the office)

Our client is a seed stage institutional DeFi startup building infrastructure that lets lenders bring real world loan books on chain. They are looking for a hands on CTO / Co Founder who wants full ownership of the backend, blockchain integration and overall engineering strategy while leading a small, high calibre team.

The role

You will:

  • Own the backend architecture and technical roadmap for a mission critical financial platform

  • Build and scale RESTful APIs in NestJS / TypeScript, with PostgreSQL (Supabase) and Prisma

  • Integrate with external loan providers and financial data systems

  • Work directly with Ethereum smart contracts using , including ERC 3475 compatible lending modules

  • Implement proof based data verification (eg Merkle tree generation) and on chain financial logic (interest, fees etc)

  • Maintain high test coverage with Jest / Supertest and drive engineering best practices

You will also:

  • Lead and mentor a small team across backend, blockchain and integrations

  • Translate product requirements into technical milestones and delivery plans

  • Partner closely with the founding CEO on product, timelines and investor discussions

About you

  • Senior level experience building backend systems in modern TypeScript / Node

  • Strong background in REST APIs, microservice style architectures and relational databases

  • Hands on exposure to blockchain applications or Web3 infrastructure

  • Comfortable in early stage environments where you combine strategy with shipping code

  • Experience leading small teams while still contributing as an individual engineer

Nice to have:

  • Experience with tokenization, DeFi or financial instruments

  • Fintech or regulated markets background

  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD and cloud deployments
