Chief Financial Officer

Upsales is a founder-led, publicly listed SaaS company with a 20-year track record of profitable growth. Our proprietary CRM and AI platform is used by mid-sized companies (100–2000 employees) to accelerate sales and build long-term growth.

Over the past few years, we've made our biggest bet yet: Upsales AI, a data-driven platform that helps CEOs and leadership teams make smarter decisions and unlock new growth. Now we're entering our next phase: scaling the company, in Sweden and internationally, while maintaining high profitability.

We're looking for a CFO to join our leadership team and help shape the future of Upsales. You'll work closely with the CEO (who is also the company's largest shareholder), take full ownership of finance, and play a key role in strategic decision-making, operational efficiency, and long-term expansion.

This is not a traditional reporting-focused finance role. We're looking for a business-first CFO who sees finance as a lever for growth, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and takes pride in building smart, lean, scalable processes.

Through smart automation, data, and a network of specialized partners, we achieve more with fewer people. Our finance team is lean by design, allowing us to stay fast, focused, and profitable while scaling.

• Lead quarterly reporting, annual accounts, and AGM preparation.
• Ensure full compliance with MAR (Market Abuse Regulation) and other stock market obligations, maintaining transparency and control in all public disclosures. 
• Own budgeting, forecasting (QRF), cost tracking, and financial efficiency.
• Own cash flow, payroll, accounts receivable, and financial operations.
• Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and other stakeholders.
• Design and optimize incentive models and compensation frameworks.
• Partner with RevOps and other departments to improve cross-functional processes.
• Present financials to the board and investors.
• Drive the adoption of AI, BI, and automation across finance.
• Build scalable systems and processes to support international growth.
• Act as a strategic partner to People, Product, and Ops to align financial planning with business goals.

We're looking for someone who gets energy from driving results, thrives with responsibility, and has a natural curiosity for how things work. You combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and you don't wait around for permission to improve what's not working.

We believe you have:

• A Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics or related.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and deep understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Proven track record of process improvement and operational efficiency in finance.
• Experience from smaller, fast-moving, entrepreneurial companies.
• Strong grasp of SaaS metrics (ARR, retention, CAC, LTV) and FP&A best practices.
• Clear communication skills in both English and Swedish.
• A genuine interest in AI, BI, and automation in finance.
• Hands-on mindset with attention to detail – but pragmatic enough to prioritize what matters most.
• High quality standards, but low ego, you're a team player who believes the company's success is your success.
• Flexibility and willingness to roll up your sleeves when needed.
