Chief Risk Officer

Qred is a profitable, fast-growing fintech bank dedicated to powering entrepreneurs. We're now looking for a pragmatic and solutions-oriented Chief Risk Officer who knows how to facilitate the business with a robust risk management framework.

The role
Due to Qred's continuous growth, our current Chief Risk Officer is transitioning into a new strategic role, creating a great opportunity for a new Chief Risk Officer to lead our next phase. We are looking for a strategic leader who views risk management as a steering wheel, enabling us to continue growing, while keeping our foundation secure. Reporting to our CEO, and leading the team of a Risk Analyst and the Information Security Officer, you will maintain a world-class risk function in a high-growth fintech environment

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and lead the second line Risk Control function in accordance with the Swedish Financial Services Authority (SFSA) requirements
• Support and provide expertise to the risk management framework, including policies and procedures, and ensure that Qred complies with relevant regulations
• Act as an internal advisor to other departments regarding risk management matters (e.g. controls, best practices, and industry development) and assist departments in understanding regulatory responsibilities and best practices
• Lead the team consisting of a Risk Analyst and the Information Security Officer
• Work closely with other members of senior management to ensure that risk management is integrated into Qred's overall strategy and operations
• Identify and assess potential risks to Qred's financial stability and operations
• Monitor, control and report on Qred's risk to the board of directors, senior management, and other stakeholders such as investors and credit analysts
• Provide expertise in compliance and risk management subjects for new initiatives to ensure proactive identification of risks, especially in conducting new product approval processes (NPAP)
• Evaluate results of audits, examinations, and investigations, prepare reports of findings, and suggest appropriate risk limitations and mitigating actions to management
• Report to the CEO with direct report to the Board of Directors

Furthermore, we hope you have:

• A university degree in economics, mathematics, law or a related relevant discipline
• 5+ years of relevant work experience in risk management from an in-house risk control function role or consultancy
• Experience within the financial sector and working with the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (SFSA)
• Excellent command of spoken and written Swedish and English
• Experience within a fintech / smaller institute will be considered meritorious
• In addition, operational risk experience is considered meritorious
