Chief Risk Officer to Zurich Nordic
Zurich Nordic is a P&C insurer with a leading position in the Nordic corporate insurance market. Risk is an independent second line function within the Zurich Group. The Risk function provides constructive challenge to enhance transparency on risk-reward trade-offs facilitating risk-informed decision-making.

As Chief Risk Officer for Zurich Nordic, you will:

  • Lead the Risk function in the Nordics including the work of the Nordic Risk and Control Committee
  • Drive risk awareness across the Nordic organization
  • Assist senior management in identifying, analyzing and mitigating risks to the Nordic business
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the Nordic Risk and Control Framework is aligned to the Group policies
  • Take an active role in the financial planning process, and support and be a part of the strategic work of the Nordic management team

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience working with risk-related matters in the financial services industry. Experience in the management of operational risk and insurance risk (Commercial and Mid-Market) is of particular merit
  • Good understanding of the insurance industry including its current and future development and challenges
  • Experience of working with Solvency II and other regulatory frameworks relevant to Zurich, and experience from Nordic's business, such as the GDPR and DORA
  • Academic degree in economics, law, actuarial or another relevant subject
  • Fluent in English is a requirement and preferably one Nordic language spoken and written

Additional requirements are strong analytical skills and strategic orientation as well as excellent relationship management (cooperate and maintain good relations with Risk Group and EMEA stakeholders etc.) and presentation skills. As a person, you will need to be well organized and structured, with a business-oriented mindset. Interest and experience in quantitative analysis and modelling is seen as a plus but is not a requirement.

The position will be based in Stockholm and report to the Chief Risk Officer, ZIE, and to the Nordic CEO.
