Senior Lead Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Lead Automation Engineer to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Västerås. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in supporting all engineering activities related to substation automation, including testing and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership: Act as a technical lead and design authority for engineering deliverables across all applicable engineering disciplines.
- Project Coordination: Coordinate all technical activities during the complete project cycle, including testing and commissioning.
- Customer Engagement: Work closely with customers to shape and deliver solutions, utilizing feedback to drive the delivery of innovative improvements and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing: Work closely with colleagues and engineers across various disciplines, sharing technical knowledge and best practices within the HUB Europe Region.
- Design and Verification: Prepare base design of substation automation systems, control and protection, and verify the implemented base design within the detailed design.
- Detail Design and Testing: Take over aspects of the detail design engineering, testing, or commissioning activities in relation to the project needs.
- Cost Estimation and Management: Support the Project Manager in costings, including submitting estimations, issuing claims related to changes in project scope, assessing cost and time impacts, and risk implications.
- Sales Support: Provide technical details, financial information, and deliverables for sales proposals.
- Complex Issue Resolution: Resolve complex technical issues both remotely and in person at customer sites.
- Health, Safety, and Environment: Ensure the project follows and complies with company health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Core Values: Adopt the core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering
- Work experience > 10 years in substation automation projects
- Strong communication skills, fluency in Swedish and English
- Preferrable qualifications: P&C and/or SCADA system design, familiarity with MicroSCADA, RTU, communication protocols, basic understanding of L2-L3 network and cybersecurity
