Gemkom Engineering & Machinery Filial is a leading engineering and manufacturing company that operates in various areas within the steel industry.

We are participating in a project where H2GS AB (H2 Green Steel) establishes a steel mill in Norra Svartbyn in Boden, where steel will be produced through an almost fossil-free process using hydrogen gas. Our mission is to install machines used in steel production and includes work in mechanics, electronics, and plumbing.

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Site Engineer to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Leading Mechanical Works: Overseeing all mechanical works within the given scope, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards.
  • Team Management: Managing and administering field teams and subcontractors under their charge, ensuring they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Reporting and Tracking: Regularly reporting mechanical works activities and work progress to superiors and the technical office, as well as tracking labor-hour efficiency and reporting weekly.
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that mechanical works activities of subcontractors and field teams meet quality standards, regulations, and production methods.
  • Occupational Safety: Ensuring that subcontractors and field teams work in accordance with occupational safety rules during installation and construction.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinating materials and applications, tracking test and control points, and approving installation and construction.
  • Subcontractor Management: Checking subcontractors' quantity survey and progress payments reports.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of proven experience in planning, execution, and completion of mechanical projects.
  • Experience in project and site management in Steel Plant or Power & Heat, Oil & Gas, or Petrochemical projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and regulations (ASME, EN) related to mechanical works in industrial projects.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Excellent report drafting skills.
