Job Description:

Tap Changers Diagnostic Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will develop, implement, and maintain diagnostic algorithms to assess the condition of various tap changers, transforming data into actionable insights.

You will support our customers in managing their transformer fleets throughout their lifecycle by providing expert monitoring and diagnostic services for tap changers.

This includes detecting early signs of potential failure, enabling predictive maintenance, optimizing asset utilization, and minimizing downtime.

You will ensure technology leadership on tap changers monitoring and diagnostics while contributing to customer satisfaction and profitable growth.

Your Responsibilities

  1. You stay up-to-date with the latest technology solutions, international standards, market trends, and customer requirements related to transformer monitoring and diagnostics, focusing specifically on tap changers.
  2. You propose innovative solutions in the field of tap changers monitoring and diagnostics.
  3. You collaborate closely with product management to define the development roadmap for monitoring and diagnostic services.
  4. You drive the development and implementation of tap changers monitoring and diagnostic algorithms, ensuring they are properly documented and implemented in suitable IT tools, and that they stay current.
  5. You create training materials and deliver training sessions to designated service units.
  6. You participate in international pre-standardization and standardization work.
  7. You provide in-depth technical support for root cause analyses and issue resolutions, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into our algorithms.
  8. You offer advanced technical support to other functions (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales) and participate in meetings with customers and suppliers as needed.
  9. You attend trade shows to better understand customer pain points and associated consequences.
  10. Embody core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your actions while caring for colleagues and the business.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. MSc or BSc Engineering degree or equivalent diploma qualification.
  2. 5+ years of experience in tap changers service and/or engineering.
  3. Strong technical background in tap changers, including diagnostic equipment, test sets, tools, safety protocols, and typical maintenance and repair procedures.
  4. Direct experience in installation, commissioning, and on-site activities is beneficial.
  5. Knowledge of tap changer monitoring systems, including digital devices, software, and communication.
  6. Data analysis and interpretation skills.
  7. Proven experience in transformer engineering studies, diagnostics, and condition assessment.
  8. Demonstrated experience in interacting with customers and/or international standards groups.
  9. International experience and intercultural sensitivity.
  10. Structured and analytical thinking, along with a collaborative approach, strong communication skills, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
