Job Title: Cinematics Technical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Cinematics Technical Designer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our cinematic team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing visual scripting logic for game entities and rendering processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to set up cinematic shots, lookdev scenes, and reusable prefabs.
  • Review and improve existing node-based visual scripting logic, and design and implement new logic as needed.
  • Identify technical problems and propose solutions to ensure seamless cinematic experiences.
  • Work with artists and engineers to adapt to artistic and technical constraints, providing a workflow for cinematic artists on a per-project basis.
  • Provide hands-on support to artists and engineers regarding asset performance and validation.
  • Review creative processes and identify opportunities for tool improvements.
  • Solve technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline.
  • Collaborate with partner studios to share technology and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a digital art content creation pipeline, within the video game or film/tv industry with a focus on cinematics.
  • Experience within a game engine (Frostbite, Unreal, Unity, or similar).
  • Experience producing outstanding cinematic assets.
  • Experience with game development frameworks and methodologies.
  • Experience with real-time workflows and the technical hurdles/limitations associated.
Bonus Skills:
  • Familiarity with 3D DCC tools such as Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder, 3dsMax, or Blender.
  • Experience developing custom tools for Digital content creation (DCC).
  • Knowledge of high-level coding language (Python, C#, mel scripting).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce, Git, or Shotgrid (Flow Production Tracking).
