Job Title: Cinematics Technical Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cinematics Technical Designer to join our team at Electronic Arts. As a key member of our cinematic team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing visual scripting logic, setting up cinematic shots, and working closely with artists and engineers to ensure high-quality 3D assets.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement node-based visual scripting logic for game entities and rendering processes.
  • Collaborate with artists and engineers to set up cinematic shots and reusable prefabs.
  • Identify technical problems and propose solutions to improve the cinematic pipeline.
  • Provide hands-on support to artists and engineers regarding asset performance and validation.
  • Review creative process and identify opportunities for tool improvements.
  • Solve technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline.
  • Work with partner studios to share technology and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a digital art content creation pipeline, within the video game or film/tv industry with a focus on cinematics.
  • Experience within a game engine (Frostbite, Unreal, Unity, or similar).
  • Experience producing outstanding cinematic assets.
  • Experience with game development frameworks and methodologies.

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with 3D DCC tools such as Autodesk Maya, MotionBuilder, 3dsMax, or Blender.
  • Experience developing custom tools for Digital content creation (DCC).
  • Knowledge of high-level coding language (Python, C#, mel scripting).
  • Experience with version control systems such as Perforce, Git, or Shotgrid (Flow Production Tracking).
