About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engagement Designer to join our team at Embark. As an Engagement Designer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining meta game features that enhance the player experience and drive long-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and collaborate on metagame and progression systems to increase player retention and engagement
  • Develop and present engagement features and systems to the project team for adoption and development
  • Monitor trends on engagement systems to identify best practices and optimize results
  • Work closely with the monetization team, Game Production, Product Direction, Creative, and Gameplay Direction to ensure seamless integration of engagement features
  • Analyze the impact of changes in the game and identify opportunities for positive impact on engagement
  • Track the performance of engagement and retention features and suggest alterations and improvements in a live context
  • Continuously balance and optimize retention and engagement features for the best player experience

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in similar roles
  • Experience with shipped games of AA, AAA, and F2P types
  • Experience with balancing in-game economies (XP, Reward Frequency, etc.)
  • Experience using analytics and telemetry to make design decisions
  • Experience working on live service games
  • Strong cross-collaboration skills
  • Ability to articulate and champion features and initiatives in a diverse group of developers
  • Fluency in English
