About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Content Acquisition Specialist to join our European Programming and Acquisitions team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for supporting the acquisition of content for our streaming service Max in Europe, with a focus on the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire content for Max in Europe, with a focus on Nordics, through negotiations with major studios and European and Nordic indies.
  • Identify opportunities for content acquisition and evaluate content propositions.
  • Negotiate content deals for scripted series and movies, with a special focus on local content.
  • Prepare and distribute internal documentation, including proposals, deal memos, and contracts.
  • Monitor market trends and competitors in the Nordic market and international content rights market.
  • Attend markets and events to network and identify new opportunities.
  • Support the budget and forecast process for Nordic programming.
Requirements
  • Relevant experience in rights acquisition within the Nordic media/broadcast/TV industry.
  • Strong relationships with rights owners, particularly in the Nordic region.
  • Good understanding of the Nordic rights markets, broadcasters, and competitors.
  • Sensitivity to market trends and an analytical mindset.
  • Proven track record of negotiating content acquisition deals.
  • Experience in setting up, drafting, and understanding contracts.
  • Detail-oriented with a strategic overview.
  • High level of written and spoken English, plus one or more of the Nordic languages.
  • Collaborative approach and team player with a focus on WBD's values.
