About the Role
Vattenfall is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our Offshore Wind team. As a key member of our Operations and Maintenance team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our offshore teams and ensuring compliance with statutory obligations.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide independent advice and support to the line organization on Health and Safety matters.
- Implement Vattenfall's procedures and best practices to achieve high site safety performance.
- Facilitate HIRA/HAZOP and support the development of Risk Assessments / Method Statements.
- Monitor compliance on safety controls agreed to reduce the risk of activities.
- Assess contractor HSE plans, performance and compliance to Vattenfall requirements.
- Report and investigate incidents, ensure close out of actions and implement learnings.
- Support the behavior based safety program and critical control management program and coach site personnel in safety awareness.
- Work together in the health and safety team and improve our performance in general by standardizing working methods across all offshore wind farms in Europe.
- Help creating an health and safety culture offshore and onshore.
Location
The role demands working on either the Offshore Accommodation Platform (OAP) or the Service Operation Vessel (SOV) in the German North Sea on a rotational basis (2 weeks on duty and 2 weeks off duty). Crew changes will be executed from the port of Esbjerg, Denmark. You must be adaptable and anticipate frequent travel requirements. Occasional travel to other Vattenfall Offshore Wind Farms and office locations throughout Europe may also be essential.
Your Profile
We are looking for a Health and Safety Specialist who can prioritize both personnel and business needs, and possesses proven expertise in coaching teams amidst challenging circumstances. Candidates with prior experience in Offshore Wind O&M operations are preferred, and a demonstrated affinity for the offshore wind industry is a prerequisite.
Requirements
- The German FASI/SIFA Education will be prioritized, the education MVK / NEBOSH / IOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) will also be accepted.
- Familiar with safety management system in compliance with ISO.
- Experience managing contractors as client and/or principal contractor.
- Experience in auditing and in incident investigation.
- Familiar with behavior based safety programs.
- A professional level of German and English, both verbally and written.
- You recognize the skills of being open, positive, solution oriented, objective and collaborative as your key strengths.
