About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electromagnetic Compatibility Specialist to join our team in Västerås, Sweden. As an EMC Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the electromagnetic compatibility of our railway products, designed and manufactured by our team. Your primary responsibility will be to enforce the EMC design and manufacturing rules, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review customer specifications: You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing customer specifications, including clause-by-clause analysis and associated cost estimates.
  • Interpret customer requirements: You will need to interpret customer requirements and ensure that our products meet their needs.
  • Verify product design: You will be responsible for verifying the design of our products and subsystems/system architecture to ensure electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Perform simulations and testing: You will perform simulations using MATLAB tools to verify the design of our products and conduct EMC tests on test benches, labs, and/or on-site.
  • Analyse test data: You will analyse test data using MATLAB tools to ensure that our products meet the required standards.
  • Constitute EMC Compliance Files: You will be responsible for constituting EMC Compliance Files at the end of projects.
  • Solve EMC problems: You will need to solve EMC problems encountered in projects.
  • Participate in the development of guidelines and processes: You will participate in the development of guidelines, processes, design rules, reference solutions, and return of experiences.
  • Design review checklists and templates: You will design review checklists and templates for project documents, test specifications, simulation tools, and test instrumentation.
  • Develop measurements and analysis methods: You will develop measurements and analysis methods and tools for EMC compliant propulsion and auxiliary systems.
  • Propose and carry out EMC R&D actions: You will propose and carry out EMC R&D actions to improve our products and services.

Requirements

  • Minimum M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering: You must have a minimum Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Senior experience in the EMC domain: You must have senior experience in the Electromagnetic Compatibility domain, preferably within the Railways domain.
  • Experience in MATLAB script use or other relevant computer programming experience: You must have experience in MATLAB script use or other relevant computer programming experience.
  • Senior experience in Power electronics/Electrotechnics: You must have senior experience in Power electronics/Electrotechnics, preferably for Railways.
  • English fluently (mandatory), Swedish – desirable: You must have fluent English language skills (mandatory) and Swedish language skills are desirable.
  • Personal abilities to work autonomously, proactive and very good abilities to communicate: You must have personal abilities to work autonomously, be proactive, and have very good communication skills.
