Software Development Engineer

About the Role
This position is part of the Process Control Platform (PCP) unit within ABB Business Area Process Automation. PCP develops automation products for monitoring, process control, and optimization. As a Software Engineer, you will be working with the development of automation products, including hardware and software, for various industries. The team is responsible for creating solutions that integrate data from manufacturing with other information systems within the company, making the information available in real-time.
Responsibilities
- You will drive your own activities and collaborate with others within and outside the team.
- You will work mainly with the products 800xA Base, Multisystem Integration, and System Installer, which are part of the Distributed Control System (DCS), ABB Ability System 800xA.
- The work involves maintenance, improvements, and new development of the functionality in the products.
- You will also be involved in activities such as documentation, testing, investigations, and supporting Level 4 support.
Requirements
- You have a relevant academic education, and experience as a software engineer or being newly graduated is encouraged.
- You manage programming languages such as C++, CLI,.NET/C#.
- Experience with OPC UA, WPF, and/or COM is meriting.
- Knowledge of System 800xA is a merit.
- You are familiar with agile/SCRUM-based working methods, preferably inspired by SAFe.
- You have good social skills and can work effectively in teams.
- You will be working in an international organization, so fluent English and Swedish language skills are necessary.
