We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team at ABB Schweiz AG. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions for our Stressometer system, a leading product in the metals industry.

Your primary focus will be on designing, implementing, and testing software components, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop software solutions for the Stressometer system, leveraging expertise in Java, C#, and other relevant programming languages.
  2. Work closely with the R&D team to identify and prioritize software development projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  3. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and maintain software documentation, ensuring clarity and consistency across the team.
  4. Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of software development processes and best practices.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improvement in software development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software development, with a strong background in Java, C#, and/or other relevant programming languages.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical software development challenges.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
